Is it possible for an MBA student to be exempt from courses s/he has taken before? If the student has previously taken a course identical to a core course, s/he may apply to the university for course exemption (the student can only be exempt from 2 courses). In order to be eligible for course exemption, the student must apply by filling out a course exemption form, provide proof of success in that course (a passing grade of 80% and above), and a detailed description of the course (to indicate that the contents of the two courses match). If the student's application is approved by the academic council, s/he will be allowed to take an elective course instead of the core course. Applications for course exemption are made within one week of the beginning of term. The student cannot apply for exemption from a course s/he has failed during his or her MBA studies. |
